Since the last reports1 on retrolental fibroplasia, sufficient further data have been collected to warrant another communication.

At the time of writing the number of cases registered in this study is 105. In Chicago 20 more have been observed by Dr. E. V. L. Brown and Dr. Justin Donegan and an additional 20 by Dr. Sanford Gifford.2 Dr. Milton Little,3 of Hartford, Conn., has at least 15 infants with retrolental fibroplasia under his care. Dr. Stewart Clifford,3 of the pediatrics staff of the Boston Lying-In Hospital, found that the disease occurs in 12 per cent of infants weighing 1,307 Gm. (3 pounds) or less at birth, but since this percentage is based on less than 50 patients it is not necessarily representative.
